Happy Earth Day

Every year around Earth Day people seem to try to be more green and Eco friendly, but many people wonder if being green really makes an impact on the environment and if it's easy being green. Earth Day is one day out of the year where the purpose of it is to bring awareness to people about how important it is to protect the environment we live in. Events such as one held at Lake-Sumter Community College in the Math and Science Building on Apr. 22 bring awareness about how important it is to be green and eco-friendly everyday of the year. Helping to clean the Earth by doing even just little things such as using recycled products or putting recycling products in a recycling receptacle has an enormous impact and keeps junk from staying just junk.

Earth Day may not be a holiday when all government offices and schools are closed but it is still celebrated on April 22 in a special way.Ther are many events held around the world, both big and small, that attempt to make people mare aware of their consumptions or of other ways that they can help.

Just like Kermit the frog sometimes people dont  realize how easy being green really can be. Just about anything can have a second life. Old egg cartons can be used as small plant pot; newspaper, soda cans, and plastic containers can become a sculpture. People can even be green by just donating recyclable goods to organizations that are doing that
Shortly after that on Dec. 2, 1970,Congress authorized the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or EPA.
